The Mary McClellan Foundation is proud to announce
the 2024 grant recipients:
Hudson Headwaters Heath Network will be awarded a grant to build and develop a Teaching Kitchen in their new Salem Family Health Facility. This kitchen will be an exciting addition to the innovative Food as Medicine program.
A physician at the Cambridge Family Health Center of Glens Falls Hospital was granted a first installment of $20,000 to pay off medical school loans, as part of a long-standing doctor retention agreement between MMF and GFH.
Southwestern Vermont Medical Center was awarded $12,500 to entice & retain a Primary Care Physician, and an additional $12,500 to train Medical Assistants; both for employment at the Twin Rivers facility in Hoosick Falls, NY.
The Historic Salem Courthouse Preservation Association was awarded $2,200 to cover a second year of utilities costs associated with hosting the Hudson Headwaters Health Network Mobile Health Unit in Salem, NY.
The Adirondack Samaritan Counseling Center has received $12,600 to fund clinical therapy sessions at their satellite clinic housed at the Centenary Methodist Church in Greenwich.
The Tri-County United Way has been awarded $3,000 for the RSVP Medical Transportation Program and Osteobusters. Both programs are made available throughout our community.
Parsons Child and Family Center has been awarded $20,000 to fund the Behavioral Health Center in the Cambridge Central School District. This innovative collaboration serves the children and families in the Cambridge School District dealing with mental health issues.
The Family Service Association of Glens Falls has been awarded $2,500 to fund their Emergency RX & Medical Need Assistance Program, specifically for recipients in Washington County.
The Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad has been awarded $25,600 to fund their embedded EMT program in collaboration with the school nurses at the Cambridge Central School District. This program began during the 2019 COVID epidemic and has continued to benefit the students at CCS.
The Easton-Greenwich Rescue Squad has been awarded $10,000 for their ambulance fund and also $8,500 to upgrade their communications equipment.
The Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad has been awarded $10,000 to upgrade their AutoPulse resuscitators, which are life-saving game-changers in rural emergency medicine.
The Salem Rescue Squad has been awarded $8,000 to a new stair chair – a critical piece of equipment for patient transport.
The White Creek Fire Company has been awarded $2,000 to upgrade the agency’s AEDs.
The Citizens Committee for Greenwich Youth was awarded $2,000 to purchase safety equipment (such as an AED and LifeCav device) for the Greenwich Youth Center.
The Cambridge Valley Athletic Association has been awarded $2,000 to purchase an AED for the CVAA ballfields.
This slate of 2024 grants totals $190,435.
Many of our recipients have been working alongside the Mary McClellan Foundation for several years, sharing ideas and plans for opportunities that might serve our community. It is our privilege to fund these endeavors, and we greatly appreciate the efforts and expertise of the entities listed above. We are so proud to live and work in the communities of Cambridge, Greenwich, Salem, and Hoosick Falls, NY.
*2024 Grant Applications were submitted last year, with money being awarded for use in 2025.
The Mary McClellan Foundation has given nearly $2.8 million in grants since 2007. We serve the communities of Greenwich, Cambridge, Salem, and Hoosick Falls, NY, the areas formally cared for by the Mary McClellan Hospital.
